This was one of the best classes I have taken. I was impressed with the ability of the instructor to manage discussions and to get us to think about the material that was being covered. Her input and that of others in the class was invaluable. Having us think about the biblical text, think about how we would present it artistically and then how Chagall and other artists presented it was wonderful. It is so easy to just listen in a zoom class and not really pay attention and participate, but the instructor really pulled us into the discussion (if we wanted to participate).

 

Excellent and compelling and very effective in promoting interesting discussions.  Great class!

 

Sarah Rosenson was one of the most effective educators I have experienced in an online course. She managed discussions very well, and the class flowed beautifully. I learned new perspectives from those who have differing backgrounds. I thoroughly enjoyed this class, and I’m planning to sign up for her next class.

 

I even delayed leaving for my vacation to be in class for the last day.

 

The instructor was well prepared, very organized in her presentations. She encouraged class participation and was respectful of everyone's opinions.

 

I was impressed by how knowledgeable she is and at the same time welcoming of the ideas of her students. Ordinarily, I am reluctant to participate in discussing my personal interpretations of course content. But. Ms. Rosenson's pleasant and patient demeanor motivated me to come out of my shell a bit.

 

Sarah Rosenson has a strong gift in teaching through leading discussions. I felt I learned a lot more this way than I would have through straight lectures. She was so skilled in managing the discussion and its nuances. She is a real gem!

 

The course was so excellent – very multi–faceted. It really made you think about the art and the subjects. The discussion format meant I learned not only from the instructor, but also from the participants.

 

Topic was fantastic. Focusing on the Biblical text and asked to imagine how it would be conveyed visually, before being asked to evaluate the Chagall piece being presented, was genius. The contrast of Chagall with other artist renditions of the same Biblical events covered in this course was also illuminating.
